Purpose of the Forum

The India-Based Project Developer Forum seeks to unify the voices of carbon project developers in India, establishing a collaborative platform to address industry-wide concerns, shape market opportunities, and influence policy frameworks. The Forum will play a crucial role in ensuring developers have a stronger voice in shaping domestic and international carbon market dynamics while enabling compliance with global standards such as Article 6 mechanisms under the Paris Agreement.

Key Objectives

• Unifying industry voice by advocating for common concerns and opportunities, ensuring developers have greater influence in shaping carbon market dynamics
• Facilitating constructive engagement with government bodies to streamline project approvals, secure Host Country approvals for Corresponding Adjustments (CAs) and align India’s regulatory framework with international best practices
• Facilitate the inclusion of projects under ITMOs to ensure compliance with international standards, enabling seamless transition into Article 6 mechanisms and boosting market credibility
